I have an idea:

Russian/Chinese language basics mini-course

Someone who has knowledge of Russian or Chinese could arrange a language course complete with lectures and assignments for the people in the train. Knowing some practical phrases or words in Chinese wouldn't hurt in Shanghai :)

I could make such a course. Russian is my mother tongue and I have taught it to Finnish and international students both in academic and not so academic form :)

I know basics of both chinese and russian, but they are both very rusty... 8 or 9 years since i last studied russian... i support this idea whole heartedly but ran out of votes :D

I have some knowledge in Russian so I could be helping Mikko with that. Do the Chinese start English on first grade or did you mean the Russians?

I have some knowledge of Chinese, and I've heard Mikko has made an effort in learning Russian, so I guess this one is easily organized (; (wikipedia says they start learning English from the first grade though. Of course, that guarantees nothing...)
